EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!
This
week we became reporters and wrote a newspaper article or a script for a TV newscast.
I handed out some wild and crazy headlines, and the students had to
figure out what was going on in the story to cause such a strange, newsworthy
title. Some of the titles were:
- Wild
Illustrator Ignores Pencil
- Weepy Hero Throws Away Police Car
- Cunning Woman Bowls Over Computer
Before they started
writing their wild and strange stories, we worked on character descriptions and
plot themes. It was great fun, and I have to say, some unusual things are happening in the
news at Techne Class.
We also played a
game called “That's Good, That's Bad”. We
had to write sentences ending with either “That's Good” or “That's Bad” as
we passed our stories around the class. By
the time the story got back to its original author, we had some
interesting stories filled with good and bad action going on.
Homework is to
finish their article, or write a new one.
