It was a dark and stormy Thursday (or Wednesday), so we decided to go on an adventure. This adventure has forced us to look at writing in a whole new way, pushing many of us out of our comfort zones.
I gave each student everything they needed for a story and then they had to fill in the details. What makes this fun is that everything I gave them is random and may or may not fit together. I gave them 9 cards, each one has a different part of the story: a topic sentence, setting, two characters, plot, resolution, lesson, dialogue and description.
The homework is to finish these stories and type them.
