Thank you to those who brought their dogs in so we could read to them this week. The animal stories were full of creativity.
This week we learned what magical realism is; it's when one thing in the world is suddenly magic but the rest of the world is just the same as it has always been. For example if you suddenly grew giant, bat-like, wings; how would your life be different? We talked about how you wouldn't have to walk anymore or take a plane to see the world, but we also thought that we might be taken by the government and subjected to all sorts of studies and tests.
Everyone brainstormed about one magical thing that could happen to them and then wrote a story about it. The homework is to finish the story, and type it.
