Start with a bang!

This week we started our stories! I gave them the ideas listed below to help their imaginations take off. The homework is to type their first chapter (double space with a 12 size font).

Start with a bang! Your story's opening scene:

1.   Start with the day that is different -- the day the hero is called to adventure

2.   Start your story as close to the "big event" as you can

3.   Show the main character and the problem, or hint at the problem.

4.   Use action to get your story rolling and make your reader want to see what happens next.
