This week everyone should be finishing up their stories; I can't wait to read the conclusion!
After Spring Break we will have a party; reading all the stories and eating yummy food.
In class we learned what it means to be a guest as well as the host on a late night talk show. We learned that a good story doesn't have to be about something earth-shattering. It is all about how you tell the story that makes it entertaining. The students paired up and worked on how they could be the guest and the host; and tell a fun story for the rest of the class next week.
Some ideas to keep in mind when telling a story:
1. Keep the story simple
2. Don't be the hero of your own story, the more embarrassing the better.
3. Make sure the story has some sort of build. It should increase in action as the circumstances go on, not decrease.
4. The more distinctive the flavor, the better.
5. A good host will help the story along, not derail it.
These interviews should be about 5 minutes long, and hopefully they were written in class this week. I will give everyone some time to perfect them next week.
