Dialogue
This week we worked with the structure of creating dialogue in a story; we talked about the grammar that is needed in order for our story to flow:
Quotation marks around what is being said,
Start a new paragraph each time someone else speaks,
place a comma before he said/she said,
Use other words besides "said" when appropriate.
Then we played a few games to help reinforce the new rules we had just learned. Lots of laughing and learning makes for a wonderful writing class.
