Comics

(Above is a comic that we came up with as a class;
I promised I would post it on the blog.)
Your children should now be experts on writing comic strips.  This week we worked on keeping things simple, while including the right amount of detail. Drawing a comic needs to be clean and simple, but there needs to be enough detail to help us understand what is going on. The text is also simple, but needs to help tell the story. Once again dollarizing words is important as well at using onomatopoeia's to get a point across. All comics need to include an introduction, a plot, climax, wrapping up of loose ends, and a conclusion. For every six panel comic the scholars write at home they can earn a ticket.

New words this week:
Greek
atomos- uncuttable
geron- old age
leon- lion
ornis- bird
hippos- horse

Latin
canis- dog
equus- horse
avis- bird
littera- letter
in- into
latinus- Latin
grex- flock, herd, group
caballus- horse
feles- cat
porcus- pig
