We are two weeks into a new school year, and what an exciting year it is. Classes are going smoothly and the scholars seem happy to be there. I'm teaching 3 days a week and all the classes are full except for my beginning writing class which is held on Thursdays; I have about 2 spots open.
We are focusing on making our sentences more descriptive, learning how to write an essay, and writing fun short stories that have a topic sentence, a plot, characters, a moral, and a conclusion. This is harder than it sounds, but with practice it will get easier and more exciting.
We always begin class with logic games and puzzles, this helps everyone to start thinking and get in the creative mode. Greek and Latin will get more exciting as the Scholars learn the words and we can start playing "Around the World". This is a fast paced game that gets very competitive.
I'm looking forward to a great year with amazing students.
